Rockwall County resident Trace Johannesen filed to run for the 4th Congressional District of Texas. He is the first District 4 resident to file for the seat. Trace and his wife, Amy, have five children and live in north Rockwall.
In response to the terrorist attacks of September 11, Trace enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He rose to the rank of Sergeant in the infantry and deployed to Ramadi in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After returning from Iraq, Trace graduated from Texas A&M University, where he was a proud member of the Aggie Band.
Trace serves on Rockwall City Council, with previous experience on the city’s Architectural Review Board. He is a partner in the Rockwall Chamber of Commerce, as well as a founding member of the Rockwall Veterans Business Alliance. He is also a member of the Rockwall County Republican Men’s Club and a founding member of 100 Business Leaders of Rockwall County. Trace serves as Adjutant in the Terry Fisher American Legion Post 117 and passionately supports Rockwall High School’s nationally-acclaimed A Cappella choir, Walk the Line. He is currently a Client Service Lead at Slalom, a purpose-driven and people-first consulting firm.
“I believe in bringing solutions and getting results; I’m a man of action. This is an unprecedented time in our nation’s history and we have a collective responsibility to rise to the occasion. I proudly announce my run for Congress.”
